THE HEYDAY

The newspaper from the timeline where your town won.

The Premise

Every small town gets a newspaper from its best plausible future.

Grounded in the town's real assets. Optimistic, but believable. The front page is today. The Forward Page is someday — the years the town is still owed. We start where the mountains already did the hard part: Cranbrook, British Columbia.

The Forward Page

Cranbrook, BC — as written from 2046

  • March 2041 The last empty storefront on Baker Street got its keys back.
  • September 2039 For the first time in forty years, more of the graduating class came home than left.
  • July 2046 The night train to Calgary sold out again.
  • October 2044 Elizabeth Lake boardwalk named one of Canada's most beautiful walks; locals shrugged — it always was.
  • June 2043 "We should've bought in '26": Baker Street and the people who saw it coming.

The Cranbrook Edition is at the presses.
